Rogue landlords' squalid homes revealed by Newham Council

The squalid homes which rogue landlords are renting out have been revealed as part a London council's crackdown.

Newham Council says it has become the first to introduce compulsory licensing of landlords. In the first year, 134 landlords have been prosecuted.

Russell Moffatt, from the council's housing enforcement team, said the policy was about protecting people.

The scheme involves early raids on the properties, which is something that tenant Brhawal Vas was not happy about.
