Mayor's 'failure' to spend on affordable homes

London Mayor Boris Johnson has been criticised for failing to spend more than £120m allocated for housing.

City Hall had committed more than £280m to building affordable homes over the past year - but has spent little more than half of it.

Critics say Boris Johnson is neglecting the pressing need for housing in London.

But his office has defended its house building programme and says it is on target for a record number of new homes.

BBC London political correspondent Karl Mercer spoke to Lib Dem London Assembly Member Stephen Knight, leader of the Labour group in the Assembly Len Duvall and Richard Blakeway, the deputy mayor for housing.
