Consider HS2 alternative, urges mayor's father

The father of London's Mayor has made an appeal to his son over the controversial high speed rail project warning it will be bad for Camden - where he lives.

Ahead of Sir David Higgins' report, which will outline recommendations on Monday, Stanley Johnson told Sarah Harris his message to his son was to consider Old Oak Common as an option.

He added: "Anything I say to the mayor on HS2 I say via the medium of television or newspapers."

Boris Johnson has argued HS2 must meet the infrastructure needs of a rapidly growing population and has said the terminus in Euston in Camden will provide a regeneration opportunity.
