Housing group tenants build homes

House prices in London went up by nearly 7% in the past year meaning the average property costs more than £400,000 according to the Land Registry.

But a group of residents in Waltham Forest - have managed to find a way around the spiralling costs of buying a home, by building their own homes on behalf of a housing association.

BBC London's Alice Bhandhukravi spoke to John Struthers, Fatima Ilori and Brigitta Canonica who are helping each other build a home, as well as Luke Chandler from Circle Housing and Tony Battle of Kind and Company Building Contractors.
