Extremism prevention funding for London councils 'cut'

The growing number of extremists travelling to Syria and Iraq has this week been highlighted by the head of the Metropolitan Police.

The problem has renewed questions on how the government is trying to prevent young Muslim men being radicalised.

BBC London has discovered that funding aimed at helping councils fight extremism has been significantly cut.

But the Home Office insists that overall spending on preventing radicalism has in fact increased.
