Mount Pleasant housing plan approved

Proposals to redevelop London's Mount Pleasant sorting office have been approved by the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.

Planning permission has been given for 681 homes on part of the Royal Mail site.

The local council, politicians and the main postal workers' union have attacked the plans, saying just a quarter of the houses will be affordable.

BBC London's Nick Beake spoke to conservative group leader Andrew Boff, James Murray, from Islington Council, Edward Lister, the deputy Mayor of London for housing and Martin Gafsen, from the Royal Mail Group.
