Nurses asked to work extra hours to make up for error

Nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children are being asked to work extra hours after an accounting blunder.

Staff were paid for an extra six-and-a-half hours and are now being asked to work extra hours or deduct the time from their annual holiday.

The Royal College of Nursing (RCN) said the NHS trust was damaging morale.

The trust said it was aware of how hard nurses worked - and had offered options to try and reduce the inconvenience of the accounting error.

BBC London's Sarah Harris spoke to Sue Tarr of Royal College of Nursing, Ardiana Statovci and Danny Francis, a London Ambulance worker.
