Tower Bridge in London to close for repair work

Tower Bridge, one of London's busiest river crossings, is set to close for three months next year so repairs can be carried out.

The Victorian structure has not had any work carried out on it for 25 years.

Chris Earlie, Tower Bridge business manager, said timber decking on the bridge was in need of repair and the bridge would be closed to traffic and pedestrians over the winter months.

But motorists said they were shocked by the news and that the closure would cause chaos. BBC London's Ayshea Buksh reports.
