Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe explains why he is retiring

Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has explained why he has decided to retire as commissioner of the Metropolitan Police.

The most senior police officer in the UK has announced is will stand down in February after more than five years in the job.

He said he thought it was "the right time to move on" and denied it had anything to do with Sadiq Khan being elected as mayor of London.
