HS2 will devastate wildlife, say campaigners

Government plans to build a 3km (1.8miles) bridge in Hillingdon for HS2 will destroy local wildlife, campaigners say.

The proposed high speed rail route from London to the Midlands will cross Blackwater Lake, which the Wildlife Trust say is a haven for wildlife in Mid Colne Valley, Harefield.

The company contracted to build the railway, said it was committed to delivering the greenest railway in the UK.
