Schoolboy invents coding system to help heart surgeons

A schoolboy on work experience at a London hospital has come up with an award-winning medical idea to help heart surgeons.

Doctors often have to operate immediately without knowing the complete medical history of a patient, making the procedure more dangerous.

But 16-year-old Ben Wald has come up with a new coding system, which allows surgeons to know what operations a patient has previously had.
