Digger used to ram-raid Santander in Leighton Buzzard

A digger has smashed through the front of a bank in an attempted ram-raid.

Santander in Leighton Buzzard was left extensively damaged after the JCB was used to try to steal a cash machine early on Monday.

A restaurant on the opposite side of Hockliffe Street has a hole in the wall, believed to be caused by the digger driving back and forth.

It is not yet known whether anything was stolen.
