Great Yarmouth model village on the market for £500k

A model village has been put up for sale for £500,000.

The owners of Merrivale Model Village in Great Yarmouth, Peter Williamson, 53, and Shirley Whelan, are retiring having run the tourist attraction since 2004.

They said they will be sad to wave goodbye but it was "it was time to step back".

Mr Williamson said: "We have had a fantastic year with a record number of visitors, 3,100 on one day alone."

The model village first opened in the early 1960s.
