Tortoise fitted with wheels after injuring leg

An injured tortoise has been fitted with wheels after losing the feeling in its legs.

The 22-year-old African spurred tortoise, named Bert, lives at the Dinosaur Adventure Park, near Norwich.

Following advice from a vet, Bert was fitted with a set of wheels to allow him to move unassisted.

Animal keeper Bert Wallder said: "If he wasn't on the wheels he would probably be sat around not moving very much."

Bert is still young as the species can live up to 80 years.
