Easter eggs and chocolate demand 'more sophisticated'

As the UK is set to spend millions on Easter chocolate treats, according to one chocolatier our tastes have become "more sophisticated".

"People are increasingly coming to smaller producers as, just like coffee lovers, they want to taste the different nuances in chocolate that come with sourcing it from around the world," says Norfolk-based chocolate maker Dale Skipper.

Overall, UK consumers are set to spend £4.4bn on chocolate in 2017, with some £374m spent on Easter confectionery by Brits in 2016, according to research analysts Mintel.
