Norwich Cathedral weathercock returned to spire after restoration

A 264-year-old weathercock has been returned to a cathedral spire after being restored and regilded.

The weathercock, which has crowned Norwich Cathedral since 1756, was replaced on Thursday evening.

The delicate operations were carried out by father-and-son team Chris and Sam Milford.

It is thought to be the first time the 2ft 9in (83cm) weathercock has been renovated since 1963.
