Wicksteed Park's pirate ship has final swing after 34 years
A pirate ship attraction which has been in operation for 30 years has closed down after being declared "too expensive" to maintain.
The ride has been in operation at Wicksteed Park in Kettering since 1982. It saw 32 competition winners on board for its final run.
It is set to be replaced by a giant swing ride next year. The pirate ship, which needed a £200,000 refit, has been sold to a businessman from Bulgaria.
