Easyjet names aircraft after pioneer to boost female pilot numbers
A Luton-based airline has named one of its aircraft after a female aviation pioneer in a bid to further boost the number of women pilots on its books after doubling their number in the past year.
Easyjet has named the aircraft Amy Johnson in honour of the first woman to fly solo from Britain to Australia.
Chief executive Carolyn McCall said: "Every single female captain in the world could fit into an A380 [aircraft], so that's not many."
