Terry Christian talks to elderly buyers about the housing crisis
Recent research suggests Britain's elderly population may be part of the answer to housing shortages.
A survey in June suggested "last-time buyers", as they are known, own 7.7m spare rooms, equating to 5.3m under-occupied homes in the UK.
But for many such owners, downsizing can be a daunting prospect.
Terry Christian talked to those who have made the move for BBC East Midlands' Inside Out to find out about the challenges and rewards of making the move.
Inside Out is broadcast on BBC One East Midlands at 19:30 on Monday 21 September and nationwide for 30 days thereafter on the iPlayer.
