Guide dog refused at Chinese restaurant
A diner, who is blind, has filmed the moment he was turned away from a Chinese restaurant in Nottinghamshire, because he had his guide dog with him.
In Nathan Edge's video, external the manager of the the Shangri-La, Jason Liu, can be heard saying the refusal was for "hygienic reasons", which is illegal under the Equality Act 2010.
He has since apologised, and said Mr Edge was turned away due to inadequate spacing and "health and safety" reasons.
Mr Liu said: "I would like to make it very clear that we have no issues accepting guide dogs into our establishment, this is a proven fact as Mr Edge has dined with us previously."
The video has been watched more than 50,000 times since Saturday.
