Watch: Thousands raised for girl's new prosthetic eye

A girl has said she "couldn't stop looking in the mirror" after having a state-of-the-art prosthetic eye fitted.

Myah, of Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, was born with microphthalmia - a rare condition that left her with an abnormally small right eye that had to be removed.

The nine-year-old had previously been through 24 operations to fit her with different prosthetics but none achieved the lifelike appearance Myah wanted.

After sharing her story on BBC Breakfast, Myah and her mum managed to raise £15,000 to pay for the new lifelike prosthetic in Los Angeles in the US.

It features a painted pupil which, in low light, appears to dilate due to an optical illusion, Myah's mum Lauren said.

She said: "I've got my little girl back."
