Disabled sailor opens new pontoon

Disabled sailor Geoff Holt opened a new accessible pontoon at Oxford Sailing Club.

The yachtsman, from Portsmouth, was paralysed in a swimming accident in 1984. He helped open the £500,000 facility at Farmoor Reservoir in Cumnor Road.

The pontoon will make it easier for disabled sailors to use the reservoir.

It is the culmination of 10 years work by the club, Oxford Sailability and Thames Water volunteers.
