Sumatran Orangutan Society launches auction

An Oxford charity dedicated to the protection of orangutans has launched an online auction of items donated by actors, musicians and sportspeople.

Coldplay, Natalie Portman, Gillian Anderson and Sebastian Vettel are amongst the celebrities who have given items to the Sumatran Orangutan Society auction.

Also included are hand-written lyrics by Oxford band Stornoway.

Helen Buckland told the BBC's Geraldine Peers that the orangutans are critically-endangered because of deforestation by the palm oil industry.
