Oxfordshire's old ruins 'could provide new housing'

A council in Oxfordshire has calculated that the empty homes in its area could provide housing for more than three quarters of the people on its waiting list.

South Oxfordshire District Council and other local authorities are now attempting to bring homes that are falling into ruin back into use.

Owners who leave properties empty will be getting higher council tax bills, they say.
