New estate and school plan for Oxford approved
Plans to build a new housing estate and primary school in Oxford have been given outline planning approval.
The city council says the new development, which will expand Barton across fields on the other side of the A40, will provide much-needed housing.
The estate, called Barton West, will have 885 homes, a supermarket, a primary school and possibly a hotel.
A link road for buses across the A40 will connect it to Oxford, but some people on the other side of the ring road say they will fight the plans.
