South's housing shortage 'pushing up prices and rents'

A shortage of housing in the south of England has pushed house prices and private rents out of reach for local workers, according to a new report.

The National Housing Federation claims the situation is reaching crisis point and wants more affordable homes to be built.

A recent study has suggested Oxfordshire needs 5,000 houses to be built every year until 2031.
