Haven for wildlife to emerge from Shropshire scrapyard

A wildlife trust is hoping the public will support a campaign to restore a 15-acre scrapyard site into a wildlife-rich peat bog.

Shropshire Wildlife Trust needs to raise £500,000 to clean and manage the land on the Marches Mosses, a wetlands area which crosses the Shropshire and Cheshire border.

The site has been home to 100,000 tyres and old car parts after 50 years as a breakers' yard.
