Tree cameras capture rare pine martens in Shropshire countryside
Pine marten enthusiasts are attaching den boxes to woodland trees in Shropshire to help the small creatures flourish in the county.
The Shropshire Pine Marten Project has so far hoisted 30 den boxes into position in the Shropshire Hills area and has funding to provide double that number.
Project leader Stuart Edmunds said the group was looking to work with more landowners in Shropshire to protect pine martens, which were rediscovered in the county back in 2015.
The group also attach cameras to trees near the den boxes to hopefully capture footage of pine martens.
