'Remorseful' Bath attacker sentenced after Crimewatch appeal
A man travelled 190 miles to hand himself in to police after seeing CCTV of himself attacking a student on Crimewatch, a court has heard.
Christopher Riley, 23, knocked Scott Huxtable out with a single punch in an unprovoked attack in Bath on Valentine's Day.
CCTV footage captured the men, who had both been drinking, in an altercation. It was then broadcast on the BBC's Crimewatch programme on 2 May.
Riley, from Oldham, was given a five-month prison sentence suspended for 18 months by Bath magistrates.
