Olympians Helen Glover and Heather Stanning appointed MBEs

Wiltshire-based army captain Heather Stanning and Helen Glover, a former PE teacher at Oldfield school in Bath, have been appointed MBEs at a ceremony at Windsor Castle.

Last summer, the pair became the first British female rowers to achieve gold in the women's pair since the sport was added to the Olympics in 1976.

Also honoured was Gloucestershire's Ian Coley, manager of the British shooting team in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

He was appointed MBE for services to target shooting.
