Santas on the run in Bristol and Weston to raise charity cash

Thousands of runners dressed in festive outfits have helped raise tens of thousands of pounds for West Country charities.

In Bristol the annual 2km Santa Run took place around the historical Harbourside.

While in Weston-super-Mare some 2,500 people took part in the 29th Christmas Cracker race.

The 10km event is organised by Weston Athletic Club, which is hoping to donate more than £50,000 for Weston Hospicecare.
