Man and dog survive 200ft cliff fall

A 53-year-old man from Rochdale and his dog have survived after falling 200ft (60m) down a cliff near Scarborough in North Yorkshire.

Police said it was "absolutely remarkable" that the man escaped with only broken bones after trying to rescue his pet.

They were found at the foot of Little Cliff, near Cloughton by a helicopter crew from RAF Leconfield.
