Stephen Sutton money 'a record' for Teenage Cancer Trust
The Teenage Cancer Trust says the nearly four million pounds raised by cancer victim Stephen Sutton is a record by one person for the charity.
Stephen, 19, from Burntwood, Staffordshire, died of colorectal cancer on 14 May.
A vigil is being held at Lichfield Cathedral on Thursday and Friday.
The charity's chief executive, Siobhan Dunn, said: "The money is remarkable. To have raised four million pounds is an extraordinary amount of money and nobody has ever done that in our 24-year history.
"However, as important as the money is the awareness that Stephen's raised of the fact that young people get cancer.
"He has been able to so beautifully and so simply articulate what the issues are for a young person with cancer."
