The Staffordshire hole that cost £2m to repair

A large sink hole that appeared in a B&B car park in north Staffordshire has been repaired at a cost of more than £2m.

The 40m-deep (130ft) sinkhole appeared next to The Laurels, in Oakamoor, in April 2014.

The repair work, the cost of which was mainly met by insurers, has been extensive.

Owners Helen King and Phil Tester said they were delighted to be reopening their business.

"We are fully stabilised and we are going nowhere for the next 1000 years," said Mr Tester.

The hole appeared after a landslide in the area.
