Cars and homes in Wolstanton damaged by 'mini tornado'

Walls, roofs and cars have been badly damaged in Wolstanton, Staffordshire, in what some residents described as a "mini tornado".

The Met Office said the weather conditions would have allowed for them to form, but it was impossible to confirm whether the reports were accurate without seeing photos.

A spokesperson said the damage could equally be have been caused by "high winds".

Meteorologist Paul Michaelwaite, from Net Weather, warned similar conditions on Wednesday meant funnel clouds could form and possibly lead to tornadoes.
