Bury St Edmunds' new pub signs 'cultural vandalism'

A brewery in Suffolk is reviewing its decision to scrap 200 traditional pub signs after being accused of "cultural vandalism".

Greene King, which is based in Bury St Edmunds, is re-branding some of its pubs but the plain green signs have not met with everyone's approval.

Now the brewery has said it will review the policy at some of its most historic pubs.

The company said the changes had been generally well received but accepted they may not be right for all its pubs.
