Laxfield farmer's wind turbine plan refused

A Suffolk farmer's plan for a 45m-high wind turbine has met with fierce opposition from villagers.

It has been forecast that Harry Standley's £500,000 turbine would earn him £80,000 a year in feed-in tariffs.

But Laxfield Parish Council voted to reject the planning application on the grounds of its visual impact and the fact it would be of no benefit to the parish.
