Fears for future of US base RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk

Concerns have been raised after it was revealed that the US could save $300m a year if it ended its operations at RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk.

The US Department of Defense is looking at ways it could save money and reorganise its overseas bases.

A US report says one option could be to move the RAF Lakenheath-based US Air Force 48th Fighter Wing back to the US.
