Corrie Mckeague: Barton Mills search team 'looking for body'

A search team looking for missing RAF serviceman Corrie Mckeague was joined by 40 members of the public as it scoured undergrowth "for a body".

The 23-year-old RAF gunner, based at Honington, Suffolk, vanished after a night out in Bury St Edmunds on 24 September.

A search organised by Mr Mckeague's mother, Nicola Urquhart, saw 100 people explore woodland near Barton Mills, close to the A11, on Sunday.

"The search that we're conducting now is for body recovery," said Andy King, from Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue.

It was the second search using members of the public, and follows fa crowdfunding campaign.

Mrs Urquhart took part in the search for the airman, who is from Dunfermline, Fife.

Five cadaver dogs, used to search for bodies, were also brought in, as well as a drone.
