Suffolk council's spiky deterrents to ward off birds

Spikes have been placed on tree branches outside a local authority building in a bid to prevent bird droppings on a path below.

Suffolk County Council says the birds "seem" fine about their spiky deterrents outside its Ipswich headquarters.

The RSPB said the spikes were an accepted method to deter birds where their presence would pose a health and safety risk..

But other people have criticised the council for denying the birds space in trees.
