Footballer Robert Hughes' mother to fight for other victims
The mother of a footballer who suffered brain damage in an attack in Crete has said the prosecution of four men from Surrey has made her determined to fight for justice for other victims of crime abroad.
Former Oxford United player Robert Hughes, 35, from Croydon, was assaulted outside a nightclub in Malia in 2008.
On Wednesday, Sean Branton, Daniel Bell and Curtis Taylor from Horley, and Joseph Bruckland from Hookwood, were found guilty of the attack and were each given a three-year suspended jail term.
BBC South East Today reporter Charlie Rose spoke to Mr Hughes and his mother, Maggie Hughes, in Crete.
