University of Brighton funded to study abuse of parents

Academics at the University of Brighton have been awarded a grant of more than £600,000 to study the abuse of parents by their children.

Domestic violence charities in the South East have said they are dealing with a rise in such cases.

In the most serious incidents, teenagers have attacked their parents at knifepoint - sometimes inflicting significant injuries.
