John Constable painting fails to sell at auction
Although John Constable is principally associated with the East Anglia landscape, the painter also spent several years in Brighton in the 1820's, creating dozens of works.
One of them, A Sea Beach - Brighton, was suspected of being a fake but was established as authentic on the BBC One programme Fake or Fortune?
The painting was expected to fetch between £400,000 and £600,000 at a Bonhams Old Master paintings sale in London earlier, but failed to sell.
Sara Smith spoke to Sarah Cove, technical art historian for Fake or Fortune? and David Dallas, from Bonhams auction house.
