Hailsham farmer welcomes raw milk sales decision

A dairy farmer who had faced prosecution for selling raw milk in the London department store Selfridges, has welcomed a decision by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) to look at the issue again.

Stephen Hook, who farms near Hailsham in East Sussex, said the FSA had recognised consumers wanted more access to raw milk but at the same time needed to protect people.

The FSA confirmed its board had asked for further evidence to be gathered on sales of raw milk.

Customer Mike Lodge told BBC environment correspondent Yvette Austin he had been drinking it every day for seven years and believed there were health benefits.
