Drugs Minister Norman Baker calls for pain-relief cannabis to be legal

People suffering from severe pain should be allowed to take cannabis, the Drugs Minister Norman Baker has said.

Mr Baker, Liberal Democrat MP for Lewes, said: "If someone is ill we should help them, not make them criminals."

Cannabis is currently categorised as a Class B drug. The Home Office said there were no plans to legalise it.
