Escapee D-Day veteran Bernard Jordan's funeral

The funeral has been held of war veteran Bernard Jordan, who left his care home to attend D-Day commemorations in France.

Bernard Jordan, the East Sussex D-day veteran, made headlines round the world when he disappeared from his care home in Hove to get to the 70th anniversary commemorations in Normandy last year.

The funeral in Brighton was a joint ceremony for Mr Jordan, 90, and his wife, Irene, 88, who died a week after her husband.

BBC South East Today's Mark Sanders spoke to Mayor of Brighton and Hove Brian Fitch and the Rev Mark Lyon from the Church of St Michael and All Angels.
