'Natural death' boy William Townsend celebrates 16th birthday
A mother who fought a lengthy legal battle to prevent doctors intervening to save her disabled son's life has been celebrating his 16th birthday.
Internationally-renowned classical pianist James Rhodes gave a recital to celebrate William Townsend's 16th birthday in the chapel at Chailey Heritage Foundation in East Sussex, where he lives.
William Townsend was born severely disabled.
His mother Victoria, who believes her son should be allowed to die naturally, has won the right to refuse aggressive medical intervention if he becomes critically ill.
