Crawley Old Girls team learning to play football

A woman who was told she was too old to play football has set up a team for women over 25.

Carol Bates was 48 when she set up the Crawley Old Girls a year ago through Crawley Town Football Club.

She said when they first started, the 10 players "couldn't kick a ball" but they were now learning.

Pauline Maddocks, 57, said it was something that was "never thought of" but she believed it should be positively encouraged.
