White Ribbon Day: 'Domestic violence killed my daughter'

Penny Beale was murdered by her partner Michael Moffat, after he jumped on top of her until her ribs punctured her internal organs.

She died aged 31, on 25 November, 2001. Coincidentally, it is the same date as the White Ribbon Day, an international campaign to end violence against women.

Despite failings from police and hospital staff her mother, also Penny Beale, now works with these agencies to improve awareness and support for victims.
