World Aids Day: The pioneering work of a Brighton gynaecologist

Perry Evans from Winchester thought he would never be a father after contracting HIV.

But a pioneering gynaecologist from Brighton made it possible, and to mark World Aids Day she finally met the family she helped to create.

Dr Carole Gilling-Smith was the first doctor in the UK to enable a HIV-positive man to conceive a child who was HIV-free.
